Yesterday,White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen was suspended for his argument with umpire Hunter Wendelstedt last week against Cleveland. He began to serve his suspension last night against Detroit.

But at the same time,Ozzie was sent to the hospital with kidney stones. He began feeling pain on Sunday in Boston in his back and left side.He was then taken to the hospital prior to Tuesday's game.

In his absence, bench coach Harold Baines will be the acting manager until Ozzie returns on Thursday night.

lordy be, if he could go a day or so without going to the hospital for kidney stones, hes a man of strong will.

my dad has had them like 4 times. one time was sooooo bad he was in the hospital for two days. it was such a large and sharp stone.

the last time, they thought it might be angina or heart problems (he had a heart attack the previous year)

i'm hoping i never develop them, but my dad first started getting them in his early 30's.

MLB has tacked on 2 more games to Ozzie Guillen's suspension for comments made about umpire Hunter Wendelstedt prior to last night's game.

He stated that Wendelstedt lied in his report to Bob Watsonand MLB about what had occured on August 9th when Carlos Lee was called out on a stolen base attempt.Wendelstedt claimed that Guillen had went to look at a replay of the call before coming back onto the field before arguing with Wendelstedt.

:laff: good comeback by ken.

but you know, is there any period of three days where baseball doesnt seem like a soap opera on either side of town? :notme:

You're absoultely right,I mean from Dusty blaming the fans for Kerry Wood's suspension that finally came down after his blowup on April 17th! to Jon Garland pissing off the fans the other night saying that he doesn't play for the fans, among other things,it's been a pretty crazy year out here.
