Here are the guys fighting for room there and what they can do:
So Taguchi: A poor man's Ichiro... a very poor man's. He has better than average speed, would steal about 15 bases if he played a full season. Has a good arm, better than average range in the outfield as well. As a hitter, he slaps the ball, using speed and contact skills to get on base. He's figure for about a .345 on base percentage.
Al Martin: Not that usefull if you ask me. He has a very weak arm and average range on the field... and is limited to only left field. As a hitter he's okay... good power against righties... but a pretty average on-base percentage, and he can't hit lefties at all.
Kerry Robinson: A very useful and smart player. He makes his living mainly with his offensive skills. He can be trusted to always put the ball in play, and runs hard to first and has to earn many of his hits, had a .285 average last year as well. Besides his contact hitting skills, he is a fast runner (11 steals), which helps him reach first and is his only defensive quality. He has little strength for either throwing or hitting.
Eduardo Perez: A first basemen and outfielder... limited skills as a fielder but makes a good pinch hitter.
So how to fit these peices of a puzzle together? Share you ideas please (both of you who are reading), I'll reply soon with mine.
