There's this guy at work who *says* he's a Mets fan, but ALL he ever does is put them down! He'll walk by my cube, stop and start making negative comments. He's an older guy, probably mid to upper 40's (by "older" I just mean older than me, not that he's "old" :D )
I can tell he really doesn't follow baseball (or the Mets) that closely, since he's always asking stuff that regular followers would know (like, "That shortstop they got, he's still hurt, right?" "Matsui?" "Yeah him, he's been a total bust." "Well, no, he's not hurt anymore and he's gonna play 2B next year. Plus, his hitting wasn't bad." "Uh huh... So, who'll play SS? What's his name? That young guy?" "Reyes" "Yeah, that's it." and so on).
I'm just getting tired of this guy's comments. It's never in an angry tone, but it's ALWAYS negative!!! I said, "Well, they got the real deal in the third baseman, David Wright" He said, "Oh, yeah? Well, they'll probably trade him." :hmm:
Look, I know LOTS of fans may want their teams to improve, but what's the point in ALWAYS being negative about them? Me, I'd rather focus on the few bright spots. At the very least, have a little variety: some positive, some negative comments. This guy is ALWAYS negative!
(then again, I can tell this guy is negative about everything in life, not just the Mets, so it doesn't surprise me!)
