I boosted this idea from some other team forums. I'm curious what others think on this subject.
No super-great choices here, but I'll go with Carlos for his late-season surge. When he's on, he can carry a team. I wouldn't say that about any of the other choices.

Carlos, though I am tempted to vote Lilly as he was the most consistent. But Carlos was the only player on the team that dominated at a certain point of the season. Unfortunetly, he forgot how to hit early on.

I wish the choices were a little more overwhelming myself. My early choice for next year's MVP is Vernon Wells. I think he'll have a real bounce back season.

Oh yeah, I expect Vernon to contend for league MVP next year

We'll have to see how Vernon does without Carlos protecting him in the lineup. If the rest of the lineup forgets how to hit again next year, he's not going to see too many good pitches. However, I prefer to think 2004 was an aberration and that the 2003 team's hitting ability will reappear next year. The alternative is too horrible to discuss. :D
