Robert Person
Part of the reason the Phillies have been reluctant to offer a long-term deal to Robert Person is because Person has been pitching with a small tear in his labrum for the past two seasons, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. It hasn't hampered him at all, however, as he's posted a 19-12 record with a 3.85 ERA in that span
He is very methodical in his warm-ups so that he reduces the risk of doing more damage to the shoulder. That helps, but why he doesn't have it taken care of is what I can't understand. It should not be a big problem if it is such a small tear, probably only arthroscopically performed. The off season would be a perfect time to do it. He did light it up last year [of course, just after I traded him!] in the second half when it was warmer, so it can't be all that bad!;)

Will most likely be in the first two months of the season when the cool weather still has a grip on the game. He should of had it addressed over the off season and it certainly would not be as much of a concern now.
What's funny is that the team Dr. ,operating out of the most prestigious hospital in the region, is a great joint surgeon [who also operated on my torn rotator cuff]. The guy could have had Person on his feet and throwing with no risk by now! Makes you wonder what people are thinking!

Robert Persons continued to have quality starts while pitching with the tear. If it aint broke, don't fix it. Must not be too serious.
