McCarver couldn't be a bigger Yankee lover if he had "STEINBRENNER" tatooed across his chest. And his commentating is assinine (sp?) and redundant. He said something in pregame, ONE statement, that contradicted itself -- TWICE! What a dolt. Joe Buck is the man though, and I'd even let him commentate at my funeral if he wanted.

guess we get the best of both worlds. Too bad Peter Gammons isnt in the booth...

No. I cringed when I saw that is was Fox who was covering it. :(

I was almost rolling on the floor when he said that. Probably woke up most of my street with my laughter.:D

Thank god Al Leiter was there to add some sense to the Buck/McCarver drivel that Fox put us through on a regular basis. I've always been a fan of his announcing, it's just a shame he couldn't get his piece in often enough through the usual nonsense.

Agreed. To be honest, I was kinda hoping that YES would be covering it, so that maybe we could get more balanced coverage.:D

Tim McCarver is a focking IDIOT. I really don't know if I can stand 13 more games of that asshole. Hopefully he'll get hit by a runaway NY city bus.

BABs, just turn the TV down and put on the radio. Ever since about 00' and McCarver & Buck started covering the playoffs I have been listening to WABC (NY Yankee Baseball), Charlie Steiner covers the yanks on the radio and it is sooooooooo much better than listening to those two Jackass'.

I think it's pretty funny that everyone hates McCarver. He used to be a great announcer. Then the Yankees hired him, and he became insufferable. Then they fired him for not being enough of a Yankee-homer, but the insufferability stayed with him.

As for Charley Steiner, there's a reason he and Sterling are referred to as "Pompous, Inc." They're AWFUL. The only way I can even follow a Yankees game is by having it on TV and turning down the sound. The choice between Al-Yankzeera and Pompous, Inc. is just not a choice. They're both horrendous.

After Bob Murphy died, John Sterling said he learned a lot from Murph. Well, he obviously never employed anything he "learned," because Murph was the BEST and Sterling just sucks.
