Dye reports his broken leg is healing fine
PHOENIX -- Oakland Athletics outfielder Jermaine Dye isn't worried about how fast he's recovering from his broken left leg.
Dye was injured during the fourth game of the divisional series against the New York Yankees when he fouled a ball off his leg.
"I can do everything normally," said Dye. "I just haven't started running. We start that process today. I've made pretty good progress. Originally, I wasn't even supposed to be out of the cast before we got to spring training but I was out of it last month."
Everything else with Dye -- in terms of baseball -- is on course for this time of year.
Dye feels once he starts running in the outfield and on the bases his rehabilitation will progress quickly. "Once I wake up those muscles down there," Dye said. "It'll go pretty quick. It's just a matter of time."
