Apparantly,Cubs right fielder Sammy Sosa is still seething.According to an interview with Hoy newspaper in Santo domingo in the Dominican Republic,Sammy is still bitter at manager Dusty Baker for being dropped down to 6th in the lineup when he struggled late in the season. He also claims that he was mistreated by the Cubs at the end of the season.

"I'm not a sixth batter,"Sosa told the newspaper."I'm a cleanup hitter or third because I've earned that right with almost 600 career home runs."

"I know I screwed upand I can assure you that I've asked for forgiveness.Sosa said."But I need to sat that I felt poorly treated."

Sosa hit .253 this past season, his lowest batting average since 1997.He hit 35 home runs and his string of 9 straight 100+ RBi seasons also was snapped when he only drove in 80 runs in 126 games.

He will be making $17 million next year, his last year of his contract. The Cubs have an option for 2006.

Aww poor guy. He was dropped down to the sixth spot because he was hitting like a pitcher and that made him feel bad. Lets all give him a hug and a kiss he deserves it. Little ***** Sosa, complaining about his spot in the lineup! GET OVER IT! Learn to hit again and you'll be the most feared hitter in the world again.

I like how he said in the article he wants to play 5 more years so he can get 700 homers. Not a championship, but 700 homers.

He may have no choice but to try for 700 homers. He had his best shot at a title in '03.

But,yeah, that sounds just like Sammy Sosa.

I also heard the other day on the radio that someone had completely destroyed Sammy's beloved boom box on the final weekend of the season, and that may have contributed to his bolting early the final Sunday.

that was mr. kerry wood at his most mature. maybe kerry should worry about winning baseball games instead of beating up boomboxes.

A friend of mine claims he heard that the Mets might be interested in signing him.

I really hope he heard wrong.

So Let me get this straight:

Sammy is :crying2: about his place in the lineup and more concerned about his own image than winning ballgames.

Sammy is more interested in hitting 700 HRs than winning a championship in the next 5 seasons... Hey if the Red Sox can do it, surely the Cubs could see it can be done...

Yeah, he's a real :gt: kinda guy!

Kerry Wood beating up boomboxes? This Cubs team seams to have some serious clubhouse issues. And if they're not addressed during the spring, the team will continue to be lose til they get rid of these :loser: s.
