Some pretty big names being mentioned there and I was surprised at a few of them. I'm assuming though these are the people we'd think of if Delgado left. Durazo, Percival, Koskie, Clement, Lieber.

first of all, I think there is no chance of getting Percival or Clement. Clement will probably get big bucks somewhere and Percival probably just doesent fit into our plans. I could see everyone else who is mentioned though, and here's why.
Durazo is a possibility simply because he is on Oakland, and we might need a first basement. We know Ricciardi wont hesitate to call up Oakland. As I said in the other thread, we might need a guy who can keep a spot in the rotation for a year, which makes Liebers name interesting. He's not that great of a pitcher, but I mean he did the job for the Yankees for a year, so I suppose he could do the same.
Koskie I think it's obvious why he would come here. But whats this the article says about trading Hinske? I would of thought after Phelps was traded that Hinske would be staying on for awhile. I wouldnt mind Koskie even though it seems like he goes through different slumps throughout the seasons.

I'd be more than happy to move Hinske out to make room for Koskie. He may be inconsistent, but he's definitely an upgrade over Hinske.

Lieber is an intriguing possibility. Another year removed from his arm surgery, perhaps he'll return to something resembling his peak years with the Cubs. A tough call and for some reason these things don't tend to work out for the Jays.

Durazo would be a nice, affordable replacement for Carlos, if the need arises. Not spectacular, but he would make a definite contribution.

I agree that Percival and Clement won't be coming to Toronto (to be honest, I don't think Lieber would either). They'll both find homes with one of the deep pocketed teams.

Well Lieber does want to be re-signed by New York after they didnt pick up his option. But we'll see, I'm just glad that there's free agent talk again.
