Granted, they are spinning it as he resigned, but please. Dude's not walking away with no money. He's getting paid. Nice they let him say he resigned though.

Good Luck to him. :)

Wow I guess you cant say everyone saw the writing on the wall for this one.

But who better is going to coach this team? I mean no coach is going to do a thing with this team. They suck and are a very bad team.

Yes he is getting the money but I think he should have finshed the year. I dont know I have always like Dave and I am with you Good luck to him.

Maybe he should go to a college program?

Anyone who would start AJ Feely over Jay Fiedler should have been fired after week 1. Granted, that may not have made much of a difference, but I wonder if he ever checked out Fiedler's record as a starter.

I would guess Miami would pay through the nose for Charlie Weiss next year.

If they go after Spurrier, they deserve to lose.

I don't get the Fiedler haters. He's second to Brady in win pctg over the past 3 years.

because he isnt going to win games for you. he wont lose them, but he wont win the games.

he relies on a good running game to help him along, so theres no way he coulda led them to victory this year.

besides, wasnt that the GM's job? he was the one who brought in Feeley, not Wanny

They could pay though the nose for Vince Lombardi and it wont change that team with the players they have now....

But I think Spurrier is done with the NFL. He learned he has to work and cant play golf most of the time and just walk in and roll over a team like he did in college where he only played about 3 good teams a year.

I disagree. The Fish have a lot of talent. It just isn't used properly. Weiss would make them instant contenders.

maybe on defense. but not on offense. Their running game is atrocious, their receivers suck for the most part, and their QB situation is less than to be desired.

a high school football team has better offense than the dolphins right now. :)

last time i checked the pats won with attrocious running game and no super talented WRs. granted they had brady, but...fiedler is still a good qb

Wasnt Feeley like 5-1 when he was on the Eagles?
I mean, the Eagles are better then the Dolphins were this season, but I mean they didnt exactly have a great offense either as they didnt have TO.

They had RB's that got the job done. And a great freaking O-Line. Have a good front line and you have a good team. The Pats won with there offense because of that line they had.

Boston has been out for about 3 years now. He is done you cant count on him until after he has played a full year.

Actually, Ray, Fiedler won in Miami long before they had a running game. Their entire approach after losing WIlliams was improper. Yes, the GM is the one who brought feely in, but Wannstedt is the one who name him the starter. Real boneheaded move, and that cost him his job.

Nameing Fiedler the starter, and then pulling him after one half, then going back to him sealed his fate as a goner. Showed that he had absolutely no clue.

Shaun, your exactly correct.
Jay gets a bad rap. He's no Marino, that's his problem. Miami fans are looking for another Dan Marino and they aren't going to get it. But he IS a decent QB if he had a decent O-line.

Wanny's first nail to his coaching coffin was being handed Ricky Williams, who for whatever he did to the team this season, RAN HIS A$$ off for the Phins his two seasons with the Dolphins. Did they make the playoffs? NO. I'm sorry but 2002/03 the Dolphins should have made the playoffs. No excuse except BAD COACHING.
His second nail was Ricky's bulls*** antics this season, starting AJ over Jay, losing Boston then Chester and now Seau. To have the Dolphins have the worst season they have had in like 20 years or something means it's time for you to go.

I had said, after the Giants fired Fassel that he would be a good fit in Miami. He couldn't cut it in NY and the type of players on the Giants. I hear he wants and interview and will be allowed to interview after Dec 31 (even if the Ravens make the playoffs). I guess we'll see.
