He thinks Pedro, Tek, and Cabrera will all be back, but he thinks the Sox will overpay a bit for them. He says Sox management will not let them go because they brought us a World Series championship.

He also says it will be a while before Tek signs anywhere because Boras will want to get a big fat contract for Beltran first to help set the market.

nothing wrong with a bit of overpaying. as long as its not over 50% of what anyone else in their right mind would pay them, its all good. :)

Ray, he also says Nomar and Sammy will both be back in Chicago.

thats what I am guessing too. nomar may only be getting 8 million this year (tons of incentives would be included to drive it upwards of 10 or 11 mil)

He said Nomar is not looking for a huge contract, just a one year deal to re-establish his market value. If he is healthy, he could have a big 2005 season. He knows that a solid 2005 season could mean a $50 million contract somewhere.

Sammy damned well better stay in Chicago. There's rumors that he and Omar want to be reunited in NY. I am NOT amused. :angry:

That said, I really think the Sox will re-sign Tek and Petey. As for Cabrera, does he want to stay? What about Lowe? Any rumors as to where he'll end up?

Lowe isn't even being discussed as a possibility. Theo has contacted OC's agent to begin discussions.

that rumor has been around these parts since mid september.
