Jeter No-Show At Keys

(Rochester, NY) 11/12/04 -- Angry Rochester fans of Derek Jeter want to know where he was Thursday night.

Fans waited in line last night at Keys Martini and Piano Bar in the High Falls Section of Rochester for a glimpse of the Yankees star, but he never showed up.

Fans are not only upset that Jeter Wasn't there as promised, but also say that Keys raised the admission fees at the door.

Melissa Olekson said, "It was a total farce--not only did they jack up the prices--it was supposed to be $5, and we paid $10, while we waited there they said there'd be drink specials, but there were no specials, no nothing."

Fans said Jeter ended up in the VIP room at another High Falls Club--Tiki Bob's Cantina. A poster hanging up at McFadden's, promotes an appearance by Jeter at Tiki Bob's.

My work does some weird stuff about blocking some sites, I dont know why. Must be something in the address that blocked it. Like I remember once I was looking for the schedule for the Observatory for the John Hancock so I cant take my cousin, but the site was blocked, cuz of the word cock. HAHA You cant even look up the word butterfly on googles here. :) Dam IT people.

I have a friend that lives in Rochester. He says the bar was advertising that Jeter would be there because Jeter said he would. My friend really doesn't give a shit about baseball either way, he was just laughing that Yankee fans got shafted.

Not that I'm a fan of Jeter's but is it possible that the anger or disappointment is misdirected? I mean, shouldn't people be more upset with the club than Jeter? :notme: I dunno, my reaction is being upset with the bar than the person.

yagsy, I think both sides are to blame. Hard to really point the finger at one party given the sketchy details of the article.
