Omar is officially gone, signing with San Francisco today. And like Thome, Lofton, and Alomar Jr., my favorite player has left the Tribe. At least I don't have to hate him like Thome. The Tribe's youth movement continues and Omar wanted more security than the Tribe was offering. Good luck to Omar in SF and having to put up with Bonds. Here's hoping he gets some more Gold Gloves in the NL where Izturis is the reigning king and O is much better than he is.

who do you think the new SS will be? how will the fans react...less and less at ballgames?

Jhonny Peralta is the guy now. He's young, talented and the brass has deemed him the SS of the future. I'd also be willing to bet Ronnie Belliard will be back now. I highly doubt that they'll have a rookie keystone combo in the season they are supposed to compete.

The fans aren't going to like it at all. They've now seen all of the players from the "glory days" leave town. But as long as the Indians field a winning team, the fans'll be there and learn to embrace the new kids like the old ones.

Welcome to the site, where at in Ohio are you from?

Well it's great to have you here. I'm originally from Parma in the suburbs, but go to school at The Ohio State University.

I'm thinking about going there. How is it; campus and stuff? I would really like to play baseball there, it'd be a great school to go to. I heard they have the nicest indoor facility in the country...and with the weather we get here, I wouldn't doubt it.

I can't speak for the baseball facilities, but the rest of campus is great. If you're going to go to a large school, might as well gho to the grand daddy of them all. It's a huge campus, but whatever your interests are, you can find something that goes along with them. OSU is a great place, despite a lot of negative things heard about it being a party school with idiot drunkards attending the university.

Too bad about Omar. I was always such a fan of his. I hope the new kid, Peralta can do well for the Cleveland fans. Is he a good defensive SS? How about his offense, what kind of hitter is he? Where do you see him in the Indians lineup? Do you see him playing everyday?
