EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Eli Manning has replaced Kurt Warner as the New York Giants' starting quarterback.
Coach Tom Coughlin made the move Monday after Warner and the offense struggled for the second consecutive week in a 17-14 loss to the Cardinals in Arizona. The Giants (5-4) have lost three of the last four games after a 4-1 start.

It's about time. Those were two brutal losses for NY.

ducky, i dont think you can blame arizona loss on Kurt. and its also pretty hard to pin the blame on him for the bears loss as well. Its hard to be a QB when you have to run for your life.
That offensive line sucks ass right now. I hope Eli has his life insurance policy paid up.

I agree that is hasn't been Warner's fault. However, I will enjoy Eli getting knocked on his butt! I hope they have a lot of pics of Archie watching as his son gets hammered. Then he can look up at the scoreboard to see the Chargers game score!!!!!

Warner has been sacked 39 times this year so far, the highest in the NFL. LOL. Ouch. Little Eli is gonna get killed out there. It's going to be hilarious.

I sense a little bitterness towards Eli and sounds like I missed some good complaining around here during draft time. But really, who would want to play for a team without the patience to build a quality team around a good quarterback they already have. How much better would the Chargers be right now with Roy Williams or Larry Fitzgerald at wr for Brees to throw to, or Tomlinson running behind Gallery for the next 10 years instead of Rivers sitting on the bench this year and they get to rebuild all over again next year with a new young quarterback after Brees goes elseware for the big payday.
I have never sided with the player after doing anything like he did and I am not siding with him now. But even with the team winning this year, that is not how you take the next step to a championship.

No way! Are you a Jedi, too? :D Just playin'.
Honestly, I think some people here just didn't like seeing the "power and the influence" of the Manning's before and during the draft day. Sort of pointless to have a draft when a draftee/college athlete already has his mind made up on who he wants to play for and who he doesn't want to play for. These guys are living a dream and should just be thankful that they are playing on an NFL team period IMO!

I echo what rockin is saying.
I am not sure if Eli is the way to go. The OL is so bad. Why have Eli run for his life and have him get hurt? Let Kurt Warner be the sack dummy instead. Giants are not going to do much with Eli anyway.
Besides guys like Kearney and Kearse will be eating Eli in the next two weeks.
Oh and I hope Eli fails because I hate the Giants and I have no use for athletes dictating what team they want to go when they never played a professional game. Guys like Kobe, Mark Prior. Eric Lindros, J.D. Drew, and others really get on my nerves for refusing to play a team that wanted to draft them first.

I really feel bad that Warner has had such a crappy couple of years. I feel like he is one of us. Never had a silver spoon in his mouth like the manning brothers. I agree with others on this one. I think that Eli is going to have a rude awakening when that offensive line lets people throttle him all day.

Being a Rams fan, Kurt Warner was the only reason I was pulling for the Giants to do well. Now that Manning is in there, I hope the Giants get POUNDED.

Here's hoping that Patrick Kerney and Rod Coleman eats Eli alive.
I got the Giants/Falcons game here as I always do here in the NY/NJ area.

Who cares what this team would be like right now if they had Fitzgerald or Gallery. The fact is, there 6-3, tied for the division lead, and a pretty decent shot at making the playoffs. Right now I dont think they are thinking about what would happen if they got one of those players. If they do well for the rest of the season, no one will even care anymore about the Eli Manning situation and what the Chargers could of/should of done.

plus ren, didnt they add a few other players (or skill players got better)? Robert Gallery wouldnt have helped them much and Fitzgerald wouldnt be a featured receiver anyways.
at least thats what i thought. am i right?
