K, Browns question for you

Big rumor here in Beantown is the Browns will break the bank to steal Pioli away from the Pats next year. Any news there?

I actually have heard some news on that. Peter King, the SI writer was on some talk show and they were talking about Piolo going to Miami, but King said the only place he would go was Cleveland if he left. I forget all the reasons they gave but here's the ones I remember reading. 1) He got his start here in Cleveland and loved the ciy and the fan's passion 2) His best friend is Indians GM Mark Shapiro 3)The Browns owner, Randy Lerner, is smart and established and would let Piolo do his job with no interference 4)Pioli doesn't want a job with a big spotlight like Miami would have

For me, this would be great news as he'd bring in Weis, Crennel or two former Browns assistants when he was there, Iowa's Kirk Ferentz or LSU's Nick Saban. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm guessing this would be pretty bad for the Pats.

Yes, I don't think Pioli has any interest in Miami. This would be great for the Browns. He'd bring everyone.

i'd rather keep pioli on the pats... :) but i still have faith in belichick...and weis and crennel deserve a head coaching job!

I'd love to see either Weis or Crennel here. After Butch Davis and Steve Spurrier I'm pretty iffy on big college coaches coming to the NFL lately.
