Sox are interested in SS Edgar Renteria. Thats if they lose Cabrera, who's looking for a 3 year deal.

The Sox want someone for 1 or 2 years until Hanley Rameriez is ready.

They won't sign OC.
1. too much $$$
2. too many years
They aren't going to sign any more then 2 years for SS

They might. OC hasn't had any better offers yet. Effin sign him, and trade him down the line if Hanley is ready.
OC is the shit.

I'd give the OC 3 years, $8 per. His Defense is impeccable, his bat is coming around, and his personality fits here. He's not afraid of pressure.

Renteria would be a good signing for Boston. He is often overlooked because of playing on the same team as Rolen, Pujols and Edmonds but Edgar really is a fantastic SS. Although I have to agree about signing OC and really making it a priority. There can always be a trade down the line if they really want to trade Cabrera.

I've watched Edgar, OC is far better IMO. :)

That is one thing the Sox won't do they won't give the 3rd year.
I believe they really just want someone for just 1 year.

Well goddamn it I'm telling Theo to do it. If anyone, he should know how this team took off after we got the OC.

I think it had more to do with dumping Nomar
cause you could apply the OC arguement to Ment and Roberts as well

I don't think that Edgar is better than Orlando, I just think that if you guys ended up with Renteria, you won't be disappointed by his production. I think it would be a good signing especially considering Ramierez in the wings.
Orlando is younger, hungrier in my opinion, and became a fan favorite over night. It would be a shame to let him go to another team, especially since he seems to like playing for Boston too.

it had nothing to do with dumping nomar as it was getting better defense. thats what did it.

Dumping Nomar did improve the defense hence he had something to with it ;)

I think it also had to do with getting rid of an "unhappy camper" in the clubhouse. OC was thrilled to be on a playoff contender after spending all of his MLB experience in Montreal.
