I have seen all three of these players play in Brooklyn for the Cyclones. Concepcion reminds me of a Vlad Guerrero type player. Pagan is a centerfielder who I really liked back in 2001 when he was with Brooklyn.

Mets add three players to 40-man roster

The New York Mets announced today that they have added outfielders Ambiorix Concepcion and Angel Pagan, along with righthanded pitcher Matt Lindstrom, to their 40-Man Roster. The Mets winter roster is now at 37.

Concepcion, 21, was named to the New York-Penn League All-Star squad last season and was the League's Stedler Award Winner, presented by the League's Managers to the player deemed likely to advance the farthest in professional baseball. Ambiorix hit .305 (79-259) last year, which was seventh in the NYPL and established Brooklyn Cyclones franchise records with 79 hits and 46 RBI. He added 14 doubles, three triples and a team-high eight home runs. Concepcion finished second in the league with 28 stolen bases and had six outfield assists. Ambiorix was signed as a non-drafted free agent in July, 2000.

Pagan, 23, batted .287 (129-449) with 71 runs scored, 25 doubles, eight triples, four home runs, 63 RBI and 29 stolen bases in 112 games with Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League in 2004. He finished sixth in the EL in stolen bases. Angel constructed an 18-game hitting streak from June 10th-June 27th. In addition, Pagan hit .322 (38-118) in May and .353 (41-116) in June. He was promoted to Norfolk on August 6th and batted .289 (13-45) with three doubles, three triples, one RBI and four stolen bases in 12 games with the Tides. Pagan was the Mets' fourth round pick in the 1999 First Year Player Draft from Republic de Columbia High School in Puerto Rico.

Lindstrom, 24, went 5-5 with a 3.73 ERA in 14 starts for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League last season. In 79.2 innings, he permitted 83 hits, 44 runs, 33 earned, with 20 walks and 50 strikeouts. He also pitched with Capital City (A) of the South Atlantic League last year. Lindstrom was 3-2 with a 3.21 ERA in 13 games, 12 starts for the Bombers. In 56.0 innings, he allowed 47 hits, 26 runs, 20 earned, with 10 walks and 64 strikeouts. Lindstrom was New York's 10th round pick in the 2002 First Year Player Draft from Ricks Junior College (ID).
