cool! I only know one person who ever had a laser disc. He absolutley loved it, but lost it in an eviction. I think he said it was hard to find discs, but that was several years ago.

Actually there are tons of laser discs on ebay. I have a DVD player but bought a laser disc player one because it was cheap and two because there are movies on laser disc that are out of print on DVD.

You got a Laser Disc player for only $1.75??? That's amazing! (well, the $40 shipping charge makes it a bit more expensive, but still!)
I'm actually another proud owner of a LaserDisc player: in 1998, I actually bought myself a LaserDisc/DVD combo player (from Pioneer). In 1998, DVD's were just appearing and you could still find LaserDiscs in the big Manhattan stores. By mid-1999, most LaserDiscs had disappeared from stores, as stores were opening up space to stock DVDs (I was able to buy a few cheap LDs back in '99 as the stores wanted to quickly get rid of them :D ) Anyway, gotta admit I hardly play LDs anymore; my combo player is almost always playing just DVDs (I'm just glad it still works, 6 years later!).
My favorite LDs has to be the "Golden Age of Looney Tunes" collection (volumes 1 and 3, I still want to get 2 some day)... these box sets have 5 LDs each and have a great number of the classics. The new Looney Tunes on DVD (so far) are no where as impressive!

 Chuck, do you have any idea what a freak I am for Looney Toons?? Invite me over to watch them, and I'll bring my tapes of Games 6 & 7 of the 86 WS.

The laser disc player arrived today. I plugged it in and it powers up. I still have to hook it to my TV to see if it plays and I need to buy a laser disc as well. lol
