View Full Version : Brewers Sign Matt Erickson to minor-league contract
The Brewers reached agreement on a minor-league contract with infielder Matt Erickson, who was invited to the major-league spring training camp. Erickson, 29, a native of Appleton, spent most of the 2004 season at Class AAA Indianapolis, where he batted .271 with two homers and 34 RBI in 122 games.
Erickson made his major-league debut with the Brewers in July and recorded his first hit July 17 at Wrigley Field against Greg Maddux.

MILWAUKEE, WI - The Milwaukee Brewers have agreed to terms with infielder Matt Erickson on a minor league contract, which includes an invitation to Major League spring training, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager, Doug Melvin.
Erickson, 29, spent nearly all of the 2004 season with Triple A Indianapolis where he batted .271 with two home runs and 34 RBI in 122 games.
The Appleton, Wisconsin native also made his Major League debut for the Brewers appearing in four games for Milwaukee. He recorded his first Major League hit with a single off of future Hall-of-Famer Greg Maddux and the Chicago Cubs on July 17 at Wrigley Field. Overall, Erickson was 1-6 at the plate during his brief big league stint.
Erickson originally joined the Brewers organization when he signed as a minor league free agent on December 22, 2003.
