Filling the final slot: With spring-training games about to begin, Joel Pineiro has the inside track on the No. 5 spot in the Mariners' starting rotation. "I would say if we were going to start the season today, Joel would probably be the fifth starter," said M's pitching coach Bryan Price. Pineiro, 23, will throw for two innings in the Mariners' charity game against the Padres on Thursday and then start March 5 against the Brewers and again March 10 against the Rockies.
