ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- On a quiet day at the winter meetings, the only deal with a free agent was a preliminary agreement between third baseman Corey Koskie and the Toronto Blue Jays on a $17 million, three-year contract.

There was just one trade, with the Blue Jays sending catcher Kevin Cash to Tampa Bay for right-hander Chad Gaudin.

Koskie will take over at third base from Eric Hinske, the 2002 AL Rookie of the Year. Toronto either will move Hinske to first base or trade him.

I guess I was wrong about his deal happening. I'm glad to see Koskie joining the Jays. I just hope he can reverse his recent trend and stay healthy.

Koskie is signed. Good player.

It doesn't mean Hinske is gone...he'll move to first base.

We're still trying for Clement, but now Boston is in panic mode, and will get Clement for more than he's worth...maybe WAY more. :(

We needed another bat, and he may not be Carlos, but he is a potential 20-20 man.

Good luck to Corey in Toronto. He was awesome with the Twins and he did great things off the field in the Twin Cities. A class act. The Jays are getting a special player and a special person. I wish him well.
