Denver quarterback Jake Plummer probably lost more than just his cool when he made an obscene gesture toward the stands.
Plummer threw two interceptions. After the first, he made an obscene gesture toward the stands, which was caught by TV cameras carrying the game on CBS
With the obscene finger gesture, Plummer didn't do himself many favors in a city that is already a little fed up with his performance this season.
His obscene gesture was front-page material in Denver and was played over and over on national highlight shows.

I told all the Broncos fans up here when they was saying they got the next Joe Montana to lead there team that they just in fact got the next Brian Griese.

I don't care what the hell kind of gestures the man is showing to the crowd. Why do people care about this? It's just a finger. I'm getting a little bit sick of every stupid incident that happens becoming a big deal.

Flipping the bird to a fan was not the right approach. I don't care how personal it is. With the money Jake is making and the position he is playing, he has to deal with the critics, hecklings, and the boos. Part of being a QB is taking these criticisms.
Obviously, he was showing his frustration especially in light of Shannon Sharpe ripping Jake in a radio interview, but flipping the bird is not making things better.

I'm not saying he was right to do it. He probably over reacted to whatever was going on. I just don't understand why anyone cares.

Generally speaking saying "Eff you" to the fans verbally or through non-verbal gestures is not the way to earn the respect and admiration of your hometown fans. Jake Plummer is an idiot. AND he sucks.

Exactly. Not to mention that theres probably thousands of kids in the stands. He will become an outcast til he can prove himself and perform to the highest level they expect him to do. When one of our pitchers, BK, flipped the finger at the stands in Fenway, he was never ever welcomed again. He got more boo's than Derek Jeter and ARod combined at Fenway. :doublefin

Yeah, the BYK :doublefin essentially ended his career in Boston. He is still on the Sox payroll, but only because no other team is stupid enough to take that contract. He is booed everytime he shows his face in Fenway, and that :doublefin was like two years ago.
