Pitt talking to Wannstedt

Pittsburgh athletic director Jeff Long plans to interview at least three candidates to replace football coach Walt Harris.

Fired Miami Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt, Houston Texans assistant Jon Hoke and Oklahoma co-defensive coordinator Bo Pelini are expected to talk with Long, while Pitt defensive coordinator Paul Rhoads also is interested in the job.

I just heard a report on the radio that Wannsedt said, "Thanks, but no thanks" to the Pitt job.

I am really surprised he turned it down, because 1) he's from that part of Pa and 2) I believe he coached at Pitt early on in his career.

Maybe the $$$ wasn't right.
