Well, the Tigers walked away from the winter meetings empty-handed. :sigh:

Not an issue. There are plenty available that can help Detroit.
Finley is aging and was NEVER leaving the West Coast.
Glaus was HORRIBLY overpaid.
Pavano and Beltre may be studs, but they may be one year (contract year) wonders.
I was upset about no Renteria, but we have a SS.
Getting Drew and either Lowe or Clement would help tremendously. ESPN and radio shows are now starting to mention the Tigers as the ones to make the next big moves and a few have mentioned that if Detroit can land what they are shooting for, they WILL contend for the Central crwon next year.
Winter meetings are for impatient folks w/ too much $$$ for their own good. The smart deals are made later when players begin to squirm to find a decent deal.

Well said Waterboy. :)
The Tigers are being run smartly now. Rushing to overpay for the dregs out there is stupid.

I'd like to think Management has a lot to do with it.
