02.26 Dave Veres (P) StL The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Orioles have contacted the Cardinals about acquiring Dave Veres from the club. The Cards likely would want a high-ceiling minor-league reliever in return.

I think that would be a big mistake. The Cards need to be focused on now.. not soon from now. I wouldn't sacrifice stability with the best late-inning corps around for some good young players. They would be best off trading Stephenson the second he proves he his healthy. Well no matter what happens, I would trust Jocketty to make a fool of whoever he trades with as he has done for a few years now... (Edmonds... Mcgwire... Tatis trade... etc)
