I've never heard of it, but it's still good to see anyway. It's called the Andujar Award and it's given for the best low risk-high reward signing. Belliard was an All-Star and had career highs in homers and RBI despite playing in COlorado the previous season. This award is given by a Candian blogging site. It's not much, but I'll take any praise I can get on the Tribe.

Well, I agree that the Belliard signing will only help the Indians.

I see good things coming from the Indians. That rotation can only get better. And Travis Hafner is a stud.
People laughed at me when I drafted Hafner, Cliff Lee and Jody Gerut all in a row. Ok, so Gerut didn't live up to his potential, but Hafner and Lee played well in late August and early Sept.
And what about Grady Sizemore.

Maybe, just maybe Gerut will live up to his potential this season. He does have too much talent for it to suddenly disappear. I agree Hafner is a stud.
Don't know about Lee though.

I like the Indians' chances as well. They're a young team coming into their own, and Grady Sizemore is going to be tremendous. I like and dislike the resigning of Belliard. It's good because he'll do fine and there won't be three youngsters up the middle with Peralta/Phillips at short and Sizemore in center. But the signing also means the Tribe hasn't landed a pitcher, their number one concern.
As for Gerut, I'd be inclined to think last year was more typical of him than two years ago. Up until his breakout season he was never considered a prospect of any kind. He was more or less a throw in in the deal that brought Bard to Cleveland and he completly shocked everyone with his Spring Training performance and shocked even more with his play during the season. I think last year was him coming back to Earth and his injury won't help his cause much. His defense is amazing, but on offense I think he'll be pretty normal.

I always thought Gerut had alot of talent. THat's they hype I read about him anyway. I'll try to catch more games this season to see.
Sizemore sounds interesting.

The hype all started after his break out year, that was just my thoughts on him, he could still very well be very good. I just think he happens to be a question mark right now.
Sizemore does sound interesting. He didn't get called up until midway through the season, so I didn't get to see him any. (I work as a counselor at a summer camp and can't catch any games from June until the last week of the season.)So I'm looking forward to seeing him at the start of this season.
