As most of you already know, I co-host a totally commercial-free, no one makes a dime from it, Sports Talk radio show Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9PM to 11PM on Garden City's 90.3FM.

Tonight, we're having Newsday's Jon Heyman on live at 9:15 PM.

Love him or hate him, he does have some really inside info.
I'm looking to ask him questions that go beyond what we can read in the newspaper, so please feel free to post some here. He's the guy who broke the Beltran offer today.

If any of you are in the listening area, please tune in. Depending on atmospheric conditions and neighboring frequencies, we can be heard in most of the Tri-State area. Unfortunately, we are not yet webcast. For those who are not in the listening area, I will be providing a "transcript."

If you're a Jets fan, we're also having The Post's Mark Cannizzaro live at 10:05 tonight, as well.

Off the top of my head, but there will be a real transcript later:

Piazza's been shopped around but no takers. Heyman thinks the fans still like him, but some executives want him gone.

1B will be Mientkiewicz/Olerud/Travis Lee, "or someone like that."

Thinks Delgado is going to the AL.

Sammy Sosa could still be a Met.

The Mets could make a play for Maggs, but that would be after they re-evaluate things should they lose out on Beltran.

Kazmir Trade looks bad looking back on it, but "Kazmir is no Hall of Famer yet." What was bad was "trading for an injured Zambrano." And, he said that everybody signed off on the deal.

"The Vlad 80% certainty" to the Mets was like the Roger Clemens 1% chance of unretiring. He thinks that the Mets sources that told him that were being overly optimistic (looking back on it now). The Angels deal wasn't incentive-laden.

The $119 number is now said to be the more general "Over $100M" because they didn't meet Boras' exact number.

Pedro is a good signing.

Thanks Patchy, I did enjoy that! Pedro is a good signing? :nope: I can't believe that one, not for four years. I have no problem with a 2yr gtd and a auto option based on innings pitched for a 3rd year. But not 4yrs gtd! :nope:
