Do you guys think he is going to be playing everyday? Where in the lineup do you think he'd fit? Shad, you do know that I got Mohr on my team for the game, doncha? :naughty: I gotta know what you guys think, I need to see if I need more outfield help. :D

Tough questions, Yagsy - Mohr and Brad Hawpe will be competing in spring training for the starting job in RF, but I expect Mohr to win the job. His bat will determine his playing time, and he hit well last year. Seat of the Pants Guess - 115-130 starts in right for Mohr this year.

I wouldn't even hazard a guess right now where in the lineup he will be. The Rox will roll out a pile of rookies this season, so the lineup is one huge, giant question mark. Spring training will be interesting for the four or five of us Rockie fans this year!

Hitters in Coors Field are usually worth keeping around in a fantasy game - and, like I said, Mohr hit good last year (.270-something for the Giants) - he should be able to improve that quite a bit hitting in Coors -

I will echo about what Bill said.

Mohr should have some good stats but there is this kid Hawpe (who I got on my team) that has shown some great things. Did you know his first AB was a HR vs the Braves and was his next two a HR and a double Bill?

Bill and I watched the young guy have his first hits.... So it is tough to say. The Rox want to go young and they have some great looking young guys and Brad is one of them. If Brad has a good Spring training then Mohr might be looking to getting traded just because I dont think he will get the playing time. The Rox system is LOADED with talent that I dont see the Rox letting Mohr rot on the bench when there are young guys that are fighting for that chance to get up there and take his spot that can do more with the glove and the same with the bat.

But then again this is the Rox we are talking about. O'Drool will more than likly trade Hawpe after hitting .450 this spring with 15 HR for Bun Hole Kim and watch Hawpe be rookie of the year and look like he is going to be one hell of a player like alot of deals that Dumb Dan has done (I mean Dan O'Drool not Dan Dan the Weather Man!!! ;) ) And we will be forced to watch Bun Hole Kim get whip lash from his little head spinning around so fast to watch the balls fly out of Coors....

With Mohr being a free agent, I don't think he can be traded in the contract's first year. Then again if it's also the last year of the contract, maybe the rule doesn't apply to one year contracts.

Thanks guys. I agree that Mohr will do well hitting but that is if he plays. I think that is really what I was looking at, if he'll have a true oppty to play most of the time. Hawpe sounds interesting too. Well, Shad, you and I are gonna have to fight it out, huh? :naughty:

:D

Fight it out with you!!!!!!

But I might let you hurt me!!!! :love2: ;)

I dont think they will be splitting to much time. I have read many places now that they are going to get Hawpe some time in CF. But then we are talking about Hurdle so Mohr might hit about 8 HR in 3 games and he will then get benched and he will put in Hawpe who might be trying to hit .220...

If a player signs a one year contract, they can be traded at any time during that contract.

Thanks Shawn, after I wrote that, I kinda figured.

Shad, no, you and I my friend, we need to compete!!!! That's what it's all about. :D

I guess we'll have to see what Hurdle does with both of them. I still like Mohr. Glad I have him.

The Rockies feel they can get power from OF prospect Brad Hawpe (31 HR in Class AAA) if he adopts a consistent hitting position. He often changes his mechanics depending on the situation.

Something I read about the Hawpe and Mohr talk we have been having...
