Ladies...... ladies, ladies, ladies. Gerard Butler. HOT, HOT, HOT!!!
I saw Phantom of the Opera yesterday. Granted, discussion of the movie should probably go in the "Movie" forum, but I'm discussing Gerard Butler.
 :love2: :love2: :love2:
The Phantom character has always been my favorite in the show. I fell in love with Michael Crawford doing it in the 80's. The young ingenue guy is just dopey in my mind. But the Phantom is......... mysterious and hot.
Gerard Butler is from Glasgow - actually a small town outside of Glasgow. He was on The Tonight Show last night and I could only understand some of what he was saying. :D Dan, I'm trying to remember the name of the town he's from.
Anyhoo, apparently he's done some other movies, and he's got a huge fan base..... and alot of them were there at the show last night, screaming very loudly.
I'm going to have to go on IMDB and get a list and start renting all his other films.
:D
I'll find some pictures.
Oh, and he's really good in "Phantom......."! :jump:
Gerard Butler is being very much touted as the next James Bond over here, Nan. We think it's high time a Scotsman got the role again. I think he'd be a good choice too, very suave and sophisticated, and as we can see here, clearly a favourite with the ladies.:D
I believe he's from Paisley or thereabouts, which explains why his accent is pure Glasgow. I'm not surprised you couldn't make out what he was saying.

I caught a interview with Butler and the cast. Hot damn.... :lust:
In the broadway version, I would have picked the Phantom :luvkiss:
over Raoul (he ijust too pretty) anyday. In the book, not so much.
Okay, now I really, really want to see Phantom.

Greenock. They were talking about Greenock last night. Apparently his movie Dear Frankie was shot there, and he thought that was cool, because he spent most of his growing-up there.
Funny thing, too.......... I just discovered that one of his movies is The Game of Their Lives.......... produced by GINGER PERKINS' CRUSADER PRODUCTIONS!!! This was the film that was being shot the summer of 2003 in South America....... when Ginger (for everyone else, Ginger is our producer for our productions over in Edinburgh during The Festival...... but Dan knows of whom I speak.... :D ) came over to see us on an overnight! And Gerry Butler is in that!!! Hmmmmmmmm...... the next time I speak to Ginger I'll have to get the lowdown on Mr. Hottie Butler. :love2:
Would love to see the role of James Bond handed back to a Scotsman, and Gerry Butler would be a perfect choice!!! :love2:
Greenock is right next to Paisley. Sounds like you're right there, Nan. I can just hear you over-pronouncing "Green-ock" right now. ;)
Your posts take on a whole new excitement when you're drinking Nan. Keep it up.:D

Hmmmm....... I wonder if it's the wine..... :D
So, here's a pic of Gerry at the NY premiere of Phantom........ I would give credit, but I don't know who took it. But it is from this fantastic unofficial site devoted to Gerard Butler: www.gerard-butler.net .......... just in case anyone is interested in finding more pics.
Emmy Rossum was good..... I just never got into the story of Christine and the dopey Raul...... I liked her, though...... I just wanted more scenes with The Phantom. :D

Oh, and he's got the most lovely Scottish accent...... and you KNOW I'm a sucker for Scottish accents. :D (Even though it was Glaswegian, I could have listened to him talk for another hour or so.) :D

:D You got that right!
And I just realized something else. He was in Edinburgh the end of August for the showing of Dear Frankie at the Film Festival. I was there. I think Ginger met him for dinner. :duh: WHO KNEW?!?!!?!? (Although, I could be wrong on that......... I am, after all, hammered at the moment. :D )
Geez. If only I had known. I would have so been in stalker mode.
:D
What's the point in obsessing over some actor, when clearly Scotland's 2 sexiest men, Daniel O'Brien and James Yule, are available?

Daniel, I had no idea. Spill it, dude!!
Sorry Nan, but I gotta rant here....
I am SICK of these trendy so-called "kilts"!!!
"So Gerry, which tartan do you have?"
Umm, actually it's plain black with some sort of bird of prey on it..."
NEXT!!!! :bonehead
And back to our regularly scheduled Gerard Butler picture thread.....
And Robin, unlike some people on here, I don't drag my love life all over the Dugout. But I'll happily discuss it on AIM.:D

I knew that would get ya. I think I've heard your rant on trendy kilts. But, being a Scotsman, I'm sure he's got others in his wardrobe. :D
And, I'm still wondering if he's going as a True Scotsman here.

He probably is a true Scotsman.

oh, that just reminded me of the 7th grade when that's ALL girls would talk about lol :D i remember having my first b/f and i couldn't stop talking about him, it annoyed everyone (well, we all took turns annoying each other with our crushes lol but that's to be expected from 13 yr olds) unfortunately, some women continue acting that way even as adults, so Dan i totally know what you mean! :D
woo hoo Nan he's a hottie!
He certainly has great eyes ..
