The iPod Shuffle is a terrible idea. No seeing what song it is, no choosing your song, etc. It sucks.

thats the thing...with a smallish amount of space, you choose your songs well. so you know what song is playing...thats how i see it anyway :) with an mp3 player i never look at the display anyway...

It's not a bad idea. REALLY small, and if you don't need the screen you likely aren't the person wanting a ton of space, the mini wouyld be too expensive for what you want. Fills in their market nicely IMO. I would still buy the IPOD because I would rather carry all my music collection, but if I had the cash just sitting around, this would probably be worth if to use while running.

BTW, I think the iPod Shuffle is a good idea. Sure it's got bare basic functionality, but if you are just using it during your workouts or morning jogs, it will work just fine. If you are running, you don't have time to fiddle with an iPod anyway.
