A City Councilman from Pensacola, Florida, was asked on a local live radio talk show the other day just what he thought of the allegations of torture of Iraqi prisoners. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience.
"If hooking up an Iraqi prisoner's scrotum to a car's battery cables will
save one American GI's life, then I have just two things to say:
"Red is positive" "Black is Negative"

you guys disappoint me. I find this thread rude, and a total lack of disregard for the lives of other humans. I thought I was amongst decent people here

jen... you disappoint me... it's called a joke. people laugh at jokes because they are based on truth. No one would really ever want or condone that really happening.
Avenue Q taught me that... :D

you're right Shawn, my appologies, fighting stupidity with stupidity is obviously the way to go

no jen... obviously the way to go is to accept it as a joke.. and move on.. not everyone likes every kind of joke. But to call the people who found it ammusing to be indecent is definitely not the way to go, either. I have seen many jokes in my time that I have found offensive. What did I do?? I just didnt laugh at them and ignored them.

I have a right to freedom of speech do I not? The right to say what I think and what I feel regardless. You have all clearly done that in this thread so why am I not allowed to?

i never said that you didnt have the right to say anything that you wanted. But to personally attack an entire thread full of people because you do not agree with what they say, is what I have a problem with.
and if that is what you feel, go ahead.. start singing.

you're right... im just trying to avoid a conflict that i dont think anyone wants to get into...
of course you have freedom of speech...thats what this country is based on (supposedly...although ive come to find thats not quite true anymore...but thats off topic)
conflict, especially about topics like this can get crazy...i know, ive gotten into it with a few of the fellow members .
