Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart has announced that he will stay at USC for his senior season.

Leinart has led the Trojans to back-to-back National Championships and is 25-1 in his 2 seasons as USCs QB.He threw for 3,322 yards and 33 TDs this season, and was picked off 6 times.

He ranks 4th on USCs all-time passing list with 6,878 yards, and ranks 2nd behind his predeccessor Carson Palmer with 71 TDs in 26 games.Palmer threw 72 TDs in his career.

Leinart's only loss came in a 34-31 triple overtime loss at California on September 27,2003 in his 4th start. He was 21-for-39 for 277 yards in that game, but was picked 3 times. The Trojans have since won thier last 22 games, the l;ongest current winning streak in the nation.

With Leinart coming back for 2005,and with virtually the same group coming back, the Trojans figure to be #1 on most,if not all College Football pre-season polls.

I am very shocked.

What else he has to prove in college? He accomplished so many things at USC. I am not sure what else he could have done over there other than finishing his degree, but then again, he can always take classes on his spare time. I guess you gotta give him credit for bypassing the money and the pros for one more year in college football. College life can be a good life and I guess Matt did not want to see it come to an end.

I applaud Leinart's decision.I bet that wasn't a very easy one.The guy was going to be an instant millionare and a top 5 pick in the NFL draft.I guess the thought of a unprecedented 3rd straight National Championship swayed his decision.

It was either that or siut up for the 49ers next season.

i know, what a choice. stay in college or go to the worst run organization in the NFL. Besides, TW, he can work on his game some more in college. He has a weak arm and needs to strengthen it up this year. Playing in college will help that instead of holding a clipboard or running for your life.

plus, you are only young once, live life to the fullest. I applaud Leinart's decision to go for a 3rd straight championship.

Chisox: From what I hear, Niners will draft Aaron Rodgers. Of course, they could change their minds too. I doubt him playing for the Niners was the reason why he stayed in college. I am sure he would relish a challenge in turning the Niners around.

I wonder if Leinart will still stay now that Chow is going to the Titans.
