Too funny about Halle Barry's dress! :lmao:
I'm really glad Mariska Hargitay won......... she's wonderful on L&O:SVU...... and she's been working hard for along time. :hail:
Plus...... geez, she looked gorgeous, didn't she?!?
It's sort of a glam evening ....... everyone looks great!
The only look so far that was weird for me was that strange dress that Natalie Portman was wearing.
Although Lisa Marie Presley looks sort of goth.
Loved that The Sea Inside won Best Foreign Film.
Oh. I was wondering what Mick Jagger was doing there......... for the song that just won.

I am absolutely NOT watching. I generally do not do awards shows, with the possible exception of the Oscars and the Antoinette Perry Awards.
I'm glad that [you say] Mariska Hargitay won. I do generally like her, although I still can't believe she's actually Jane Mansfield's daughter!!

RECAP!
Okay, I can't believe that Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor in a drama.
Of all the nominees, I was thinking he was the least likely. I was hoping Johnny Depp would win, but I thought they were all deserving. I guess Leo was good, I just guess he isn't my favorite.
Sideways....... no surprise. Good movie!
Yeah, Cyn...... Jamie Foxx's speech was wonderful. :love2: When he got to his grandmother and couldn't get it out........ :crying2: that really got me.
I loved Robin Williams. :D
So...... Aviator wins Best Movie - Drama. I was hoping Finding Neverland would win. :(
Let's see........ it was cool seeing Prince...... very cool.

i'm over leo and all his films (not that i think they suck or that i don't like them b/c i do). but i think if he never won an award from now until he dies, it would not affect his career at all. he's got a gaztrillion dollars, has all the directors wrapped around his finger, and can pretty much pick and choose which scripts he wants from now til eternity (plus, i'm not a big leo fan) so that's why i don't care much for him to win.
i would have loved if don cheadle won for Hotel Rwanda. after him, anyone else. just not leo. i'm sure he's good in aviator but i don't think he deserves it before the others...
hillary swank's speech was great. i can't believe we work out in the same boxing gym!! too cool she gave a shout-out to GLEASON'S in Brooklyn!! :jump: she thanked HECTOR too!! OMG that's who I trained with!!

His acceptance speech was as great as watching paint dry. Talk about dull.
With that said, good to see him get another award. One of the best actors for lot of decades.

Cyn, did you say you'd seen Hotel Rwanda? Oh, my..... what a wonderful performance.
And I'm totally in agreement with you on Leo.
That is so cool that you train with that guy Hector!! Have you seen Million Dollar Baby? It looks really good.

Wow, I'm really out of the loop, I totally missed the Golden Globes, but any award show that gives an award to Leonardo dicaprio is no-go for me.

I watched them a little bit....wasn't missing DH for it.
you know what annoys me about these shows, why do we have to listen to people rattle off a dozen or so names.. just say thanks to everyone involved and be done with it. Thank God, Your Family and everyone you worked with and move on!! Do people really get excited that you mentioned there name on TV that you had to write on an index card to remember??? Think not.

I watched them on and off, couldn't miss Desperate Housewives...
 to Mariska Hargitay (I love her and Christopher Meloni together) , Desperate Housewives, and Jamie Foxx. I haven't seen "Ray", but I heard all about the sensational job he did. And congrats to Robin Williams on the Cecil B. DeMille award--very funny guy!

It was great to see Bateman and Foxx win. Both had excellent years.
