I didn't notice this forum existed. I had an idea, hopefully not taking it from anyone else unknowingly, but i had the idea that along with the HOF you could have a Rookie of the Year, and a MVP (most valued/valuable poster?)

just a little idea to think about.

Probably like minimum nuber of posts+quality of posts for both awards.

Good idea for sure. Even a member of the month, moderator of the month, and newcomer of the month. We do that on another site I moderate on and taht works well.

You know that is a great idea. That would be a chance to show who is making a diference at the time and it would be chance to let Hall of Fame Nominees to set themselfs apart from the other Nominees to make a case for themselfs.

Hell, I would love to have that chance. That is an Idea we need to make happen. The two ideas together would make Addict Sports all that much better.

What we do on the other site is maybe 10 days before the end of the month the admin makes a thread in the moderators forum for nominees for rookie of the month, mod of the month, and poster of the month. We then discuss who we think should be the ones and the admin has the final say. After the month ends he posts them in the general talk forum for all to see.

It works pretty well :).

But seriously, I do like the idea of ROY and MVP. Although I think MVP could possibly turn into a popularity contest, whereas the ROY would have more clearly defined criteria and a more limited playing field.
