There are always some teams out there that you could care less about, but when you look into them they always turn out to be very interesting. The Angels are just that team, and now here is thier team at a glance:

C:Bengie Molina
1B:Scott Speizo
2B:Adam Kennedy
3B:Troy Glaus
SS:David Eckstein
LF:Garret Anderson
CF:Darren Erstad
RF:Tim Salmon
DH:Brad Fullmer

So thier lineup is (but I'm guessing):
1. Darrin Ertad
2. David Eckstein
3. Troy Glaus
4. Garret Anderson
5. Brad Fullmer
6. Tim Salmon
7. Bengie Molina
8. Scott Speizo
9. Adam Kennedy

My take: Pretty solid at the beginning. If Anderson and Fullmer can protect Glaus strongly enough than this force is pretty solid. Good all-around hitting contributors and are strong enough to keep them in games against any sub-.500 team, and very much in there vs. contenders. Mike Scoscia(spelling?) may have to call for the home-run a lot and the lineup may be somewhat reminicent of the 97-98 Mariners teams. All in all, a good offense.. but good in a way that the team's sucess will be very similar to the success of the pitching.

SP:Kevin Appier
SP:Aaron Sele
SP:Jarrod Washburn
SP:Ramon Ortiz
SP:Scott Scheonewies

My take: This rotation may be good enough. Thier success will weigh completley on thier consistency, because each of these pitchers can be a winner. If they all pitch consistent and gain confidence in each other they could be very good. Nice talented guys here.

CL: Percival
Setup: Al Levine
Setup: Ben Weber

Can be dominant. These guys can really put a game away. It will take the rest of the team to bring it to that point but they will help win the games for the team.

Overall: It will take lots of hard teamwork and everyone is going to have to do thier job. If this team is to be a real winner than they will have to be consistent all year long. But day in and day out, teams will have to earn thier wins against the Angels, and certain teams can be able to do that. This might be the funnest team to manage in all of baseball, also. At least I'd like to.

that this appears to be the best pitching the Angels have had in a long, long time. Perhaps as good as any they have ever had. Their one identified weakness has seemingly always been pitching and if this group can stay healthy you have to like their chances even in this division.
