Andy Benes worked three shutout innings in Thursday's exhibition, according to the AP. Benes is competing with Rick Ankiel and Garrett Stephenson for the final spot in the St. Louis rotation.

Good sign. If he's still in that hefty contract (which I think he is) than Benes is untradeable. But still if the Cardinals want to trade for prospects than they should trade Stephenson.

I agree that I would much rather have a really healthy Benes than a dinged up Garrett but if Stephenson is healthy then I'd rather go with him.
