According to the scouting report, Eric Young Junior is a switch-hitter with a line-drive stroke, terrific speed - he might be the fastest baserunner in the Rockies system - and better hands than his dad defensively, which, let's be honest, isn't saying that much.
My colleague Jack Etkin, our expert on the Rockies' farmhands, tells me Junior also knows he's not supposed to hit the ball in the air, which was, shall we say, an issue for his dad.
This kid played in Casper last year but I didnt get to see him play because he hurt himself and was on the shelf for the games I went to but I hope he works out and can be the leadoff man the Rox need in Coors...
