Okay, it is Spring Training, and it doesn't really count, and they did play the Expos....:hmm: ... but, cooooool, anyway!

From CNN/SI:

Baltimore Orioles 3
Montreal Expos 0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (Ticker) -- Offseason acquisition Chris Singleton provided all the offense with a three-run homer as the Baltimore Orioles blanked the Montreal Expos, 3-0, in a Grapefruit League game.

The Orioles played their first game without future Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, who retired following last season.

After surviving baseball's plan for contraction, the Expos debuted under 66-year-old Frank Robinson, who was appointed manager in the offseason.

Baltimore starter Jason Johnson allowed one hit over two innings and combined with five relievers on a five-hitter. Sidney Ponson pitched the third and fourth innings and was credited with the win.

Montreal starter Carl Pavano worked two hitless innings, walking one and striking out two. Scott Strickland surrendered the homer to Singleton in the bottom of the third and took the loss.

Jose Canseco, trying to earn a spot on the Expos' 25-man roster, went 0-for-3 and popped out with two runners on base to end the game.

last gasp perhaps? The big guy is probably down to the end here so if he can still do it now's the time.

I was thinking the same thing, King. It will be interesting to see what happens to him.
