Jerome Bettis: Contemplating Retirement
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com

Update: Bettis, who is mulling retirement, has spent the past week talking to former NFL players to learn why and how they decided to leave the game, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Recommendation: Bettis, who has had a chance to discuss the matter with the likes of Howie Long, Rod Woodson and Troy Aikman, will take three or four weeks before he decides and plans to discuss his future again with Steelers coach Bill Cowher.

I hope the Bus stays around for one more year. He deserves to be a champion and go out on top and next year is the year for the Steelers.

why are you so convinced that the Steelers will be amazing next year, you'll probably lose Burress...and maybe even Bettis..

I am so convinced because of how well they were this year. With Roethlisberger having a year under his belt he will be very good next year. So what if we lose Burress. It would be nice to have him but we have Hines Ward and Antwaan Randle El. I would take Ward over Burress in a heartbeat. The Steelers also have 4 RB's who could probably start and get 20-25 carries a game so if we lose Bettis it wont hurt as much. However he deserves to go out on top.

defense. and they'll still have enough weapons that they dont need to worry about burress.

Yeah, and the Dolphins have a nice defense, I'd say Chambers, Booker, Boston (after suspension) and McMichael are decent weapons...who says they'll be a good team, not to mention they'll get James or Alexander, offensive linemen for Surtain, and oh yeah, what to do with the #2 pick

The Dolphins might be good but only a 6-8 win team. They have a coach who just came out of college and they have no QB. Even if they draft a QB no other rookie qb will perform the way Roethlisberger did. Roethlisberger's development in his first year will make him a much much better qb in his second year. The Steelers D will be just as good or better than last years unit. It's gonna be a good year to be a Steelers fan.
