Tsao is among the cast of many vying for the Rockies' closer job.
The idea was hatched last season when Tsao, the Rockies' top pitching prospect at the time, was loaned to the Taiwanese Olympic Team. Tsao had battled shoulder problems much of the season, so all he could do was pitch as his country's closer. He liked it, and pitched well. Tsao returned to Triple-A Colorado Springs and, after a brief issue with finger blisters, was added to the Rockies' bullpen to finish the year.
With Colorado, Tsao didn't post a decision in 10 appearances, with a 3.88 ERA and 11 strikeouts to one walk in 9 1/3 innings, and 1-for-2 on save chances. Even if Tsao doesn't emerge with the closer job, the Rockies believe he could move into it after gaining experience in a setup role.
I really dont like any of the guys that are going for the closer roll but I feel Tsao has the best chance out of everyone....
