FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida (Ticker) -- Jerry Hairston and Tony Batista homered as the Baltimore Orioles built a big early lead and went on to a 10-8 Grapefruit League victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Hairston hit a solo homer in the third and Batista added a two-run blast in the fourth off Ricardo Rodriguez, who was tagged for five runs -- four earned -- in 1 1/3 innings.
The Orioles led, 9-1, after five innings.
The Dodgers banged out 16 hits off six Baltimore pitchers, including home runs by Phil Hiatt and Mike Kinkade.
Starter Josh Towers was the winner with two scoreless innings.
