SARASOTA, FLORIDA (TICKER) -- Tony Sanders' RBI double drove in the winning run with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Cincinnati Reds rallied for a 5-4 Grapefruit League victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Sanders' hit off loser Derek Hasselhoff capped a two-run ninth for the Reds, who erased a 4-3 deficit on a run-scoring single by Jesse Levis.
Cincinnati starter Elmer Dessens and Danny Graves each tossed three hitless innings as the Red Sox were held without a hit through seven frames.
But Scott Sullivan gave up a grand slam to Luis Rodriguez in the eighth that gave Boston a 4-3 lead. The only other hit for the Red Sox was a single by Jeff Abbott, also in the eighth.
Jim Brewer tossed a hitless ninth to earn the victory.
Boston starter Dustin Hermanson allowed just one hit over three innings. He surrendered two runs in the third on a pair of groundouts.
