This is a special time for Bobby Knight and his overacheiving team, Texas Tech. What he and his team has done is something special. So why ruin it by ripping on Indiana coach Mike Davis? What was that? Why did he has to throw more mud at Davis? Why knock someone who is down as it is with impatient fans? I would like to think coach would support their fellow coaches in tough times. Obviously Knight was baited by Chet Coppock, who does a radio show for Sporting News Radio, so he told the truth. With that said, why say it. I know Knight is real which is a lot better than a person being a phoney and all, but he was better off just taking the fifth on Davis and just focus on his team. As Mark McGwire said in his testimonial with the Congress last week, he is not here to talk about the past so why should Knight focus about the past. His record at TT and his behavior has spoken for itself in recent years. Why go back and sling mud? He is having the last laugh as it is so why be bitter.

It's a shame Knight has to act this way and it's a shame he gives more fodder for his critics. He should focus on the good things not what happened in his final years there and how he got fired and all.

I was very dissapointed with him.

BG: I don't think Knight was being an ass. I just think he got angry just being asked that question so he responded. Chet Coppock baited him knowing full well that Knight would get angry when he asked that question. It's human nature to be bitter about the past so Knight is no different than others. Still I am not sure why would Knight go talk about his past. I like to think he can move forward.

I agree with James and Misha. I have never thought that Knight has carried himself well. Last nite ESPN compared the coaching styles of Pat Summitt to Knight. Sure they are both intense coaches, and I don't mind the yelling in your face type of thing but sheesh, Knight gets violent. He's got an anger problem and I don't think he carries himself with class when in interviews. I've seen lots and lots of Summitt interviews and she has never been anything but cordial and pleasant.

This ranting of Knight is just showing his true colors. I think he came across as a whiny, spoiled brat who didn't get his way.

i totally agree with the comparison to bobby knight. the only difference between the two is that Pat has better control of her emotions.
