I am glad he will be retained. I think he is going to get one last chance to turn it around and that will be it. If he fails, then it's time to move on and I am pretty sure he knows that. I think he will do a very good job with an experienced team. I think the Hooisers has a good shot of winning the national championship next year and I am glad Davis will get a shot. He is a very good coach and he deserves to get a shot to lead the Hooisers to the national championship.
Props to Rick Greenspan, IU's AD, for not listening to the fans and making a judgement on his own.

According to Indiana brass, this may be his last chance to get things going. He didn't exactly get a "Vote of Confidence" today. It was just,"Win or else" for Mike Davis.
A lot of my friends who are IU alumni are none too pleased with today's developments.

That's more than fair. I think when you lose a lot for a span of three years, then you should be fired. I am glad Davis is going to get his last shot and I hope he does a good job.
As for IU alumni and fans, they have no clue what basketball is. I go to indiana.rivals.com to read fans take on Mike Davis and the way they hate him is disgusting. I mean the man took them to the Championship Game in 2002. What else they want?

They want him to win it all next year.Plain and simple.
Also, they want him to put IU back on the top as far as recruiting in the state of Indiana. The last few years, many of the top high school players in the state have left the state altogether for other programs.
One of the most highly publicized players was Eric Montross. He was a Mr. Basketball in Indiana several years ago,he was courted by Knight and Indiana, but at the last minute, changed his mind and went to North Carolina.
That did not sit too well with IU fans, and they let Montross know it in no uncertain terms.

I am not sure if Montross and Knight would have gotten along. Montross has always been a knucklehead.

Another blow for Davis today as Patrick Ewing Jr will transfer to another school. Davis just cant catch a break.

Thank God. He stunk and I thought he was soft. He did not develop well there. Good riddance.
