Grady Sizemore's demotion didn't last very long.
The Indians called up Sizemore after placing Juan Gonzalez on the 15-day disabled list. The move is retroactive to March 28, so Gonzalez will be eligible to come off the DL on April 12.
Gonzalez was named a starting outfielder on Sunday, but strained his right hamstring that same day and hasn't seen any action since. He missed eight days earlier this spring with a strained left hamstring. Gonzalez's career has been plagued by injuries. He hasn't played a full season since 2001.
Sizemore, who batted .291 with a HR and 10 RBI in 17 games this spring, will now probably start in center field with Casey Blake in right and Coco Crisp in left when the Indians open the season against the White Sox on Monday.
