Raymond predicts Rays' Opening Day win streak will continue
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Tampa Bay Devil Rays mascot Raymond today announced that he guarantees a Rays victory for Opening Day, April 4, over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Raymond's "I Win, You Win" prediction will extend the Rays' opening day win streak to a major-league best six and assures all fans in attendance will receive a ticket to any Rays home game April 5-21 and a free Checkers Champ Burger at any area Checkers.
Raymond will be appearing throughout the Tampa Bay area March 28 through April 4, Opening Day, to rally support for the Rays. He will meet with St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Baker on the 30th at 10:00 am, Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio on the 31st at 1:00 pm and Clearwater Mayor Frank Hibbard on April 1st at 2:00 pm to discuss his guarantee. Raymond will also make a special appearance at the Devil Rays Dugout Store at WestShore Mall from 6:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 30 to sign autographs and Shorecrest Elementary at 10:00 am on Friday, April 1.
