The White Sox and A's each collected 13 hits apiece,but the A's came up on the short end of a 12-8 loss to the Chicago White Sox in Tucson.
Thge A's jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning when Marco Scutaro hit a 2-run homer off White Sox starter Jon Garland.They would add another run in the 2nd inning to make it 3-0 before Chicago tied it up in the bottom of the inning.
Dan Johnson and Adam Melhuse went back-to-back off Garland in the 5th inning.Johnson would add another blast in the 9th inning.A solo shot off Sox closer Shingo Takatsu.
