With 32,337 watching at San Francisco's SBC Park,the Giants took the first game of thier annual pre-season Bay Bridge Series when PH Michael tucker hit a 2-out run scoring double in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 6-5 Giants win Thursday night.
Eric Byrnes got the A's on the board in the 2nd inning with a 2-run blast off SF starter Kirk Rueter.The Giants would answer back with 4 runs in their half of the 3rd inning.
The A's scored 2 more in the 6th on an RBI single by Eric Chavez,and a sac fly by Byrnes,scoring Jason Kendall.They would tie it in the 8th on a RBI double by Chavez.
The Giants prevailed in the 10th when after catchher Yorvit Torrealba scored all the way from 1st on Michael Tucker's double off losing pitcher Huston Street.
A's starter Seth Ethrton gave up 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings of work.
