During the baseball season, I like to have discussion question for the Twins fans to discuss. We will have this periodically during the baseball season. Here is the first installment:
How many Wins will the Twins record this year? Where will they place in the division?
90 and they will win first
Will Johan Santana duplicated his 2004 season?
Yes
Which other pitchers will step-it-up in 2005?
I am counting on Joe Mays to do something special. I can only hope, right.
Who will disappoint?
Kyle Lohse and J.C. Romero like always
Can Joe Mauer stay healthy and, if so, what will he do this year?
I bet he will get hurt and he will be the DH or be out for the year.
What are your predictions for Justin Morneau?
He will hit 39 HRs
Which hitter will step up?
Torii Hunter. I think he is due for a big year after a big postseason last year against New York. He will be an MVP candidate
Who will disappoint?
Luis Rivas and Jacques Jones as usual
Who will be the Twins leader in:
HR: Justin Morneau
Batting Average: Torii Hunter
Stolen Bases: Shannon Stewart
Wins: Johan
ERA: Johan
Which minor leaguer will have the most impact on the Twins in 2005?
Scott Baker
What would you say that X-Factor is for the team?
Jason Bartlett and Michael Cuddyer. If those two can hit, our offense will be deadly.
What storylines are you hoping to read?
Jason Bartlett as a candidate for Rookie of the Year
Johan Santana for Cy Young
Joe Nathan for Rolaids Relief Award
Joe Mauer finding a way to be healthly
Joe Mays and Kyle Lohse finally know how to pitch

How many Wins will the Twins record this year? Where will they place in the division?
Win 100 games  This is a team I feel is better this year then last year.
Will Johan Santana duplicated his 2004 season?
Just as good.
Which other pitchers will step-it-up in 2005?
Carlos Silva. He rememinds me of Santana and his climb up to the top. I think this guy is going to have a HUGE year just a feeling.
Who will disappoint?
Luis Rivas I fear his bat will be AWOL. :(
Can Joe Mauer stay healthy and, if so, what will he do this year?
Why cant he? He got hurt once. He tryed to come back to early and found out what happens if you do that. Other than that everything has been going as well as it could and everything that the Doc's have said is going to happen has. Hurt once dont mean it will keep happening or it will happen all the time now. He has a great year. 15 HR and a .320 BA
What are your predictions for Justin Morneau?
Wild card here. He will be the big bat this year but I fear he will start off slow because I think he is still trying to get his strength back. But once he gets going LOOK OUT! 32 HR
Which hitter will step up?
Guys I think Michael Cuddyer is going to make us forget about Koskie. I think he has never been given a fair shot but now he will get it and I think he is going to be the talk of Twins baseball other than pitchers.
Who will disappoint?
See above
Who will be the Twins leader in:
HR: Justin Morneau
Batting Average: Joe Mauer
Stolen Bases: Shannon Stewart
Wins: Silva
ERA: Johan
Which minor leaguer will have the most impact on the Twins in 2005?
Oh heck I will say Terry Tiffee or Boof Bonser
What would you say that X-Factor is for the team?
Silva and Mays. If Silva has the season I think he is going to have and Mays comes back to forum teams are going to hate to face all these pitchers and then know that if they dont get the lead by the 7th inning they got to face those nasty guys in the pen.
What storylines are you hoping to read?
Jason Bartlett as a candidate for Rookie of the Year
Johan Santana or Carlos Silva going for Cy Young
Joe Nathan for Rolaids Relief Award
Joe Mauer best catcher in MLB
Michael Cuddyer has break out season.

It seems that there are other people that think Carlos Silva is going to have a good year.
I dont know it is just a hunch of mine that keeps telling me that his first year looked a heck of a lot like Santana's first year and I feel that he is going to have a great year. this year.

silva has good stuff. i dont think he will be verrrrrry good, but i think he will pitch like a solid #2, or a strong #3.
i dont know, but i just see mauer as being too fragile to be a catcher. many think he will end up in LF before very long (next few years)

Thanks for participating, folks.
No problem, I'm looking forward to talking with fellow twins fans, about stuff like this.
Personally, I think Bartlett is going to surprise - and lead the team in SB
I think Mauer will catch about 100-110 games and DH another 30-40
