Whew! Made it in late last night from my spring training trip - some 3,000 miles and a lot of Denny's, haha.

Now, I gotta get my stuff together and get down to Coors Field for the big Opening Day festivities - will check back in tonight if I make it back home at a decent hour.

Go Rox!

Well Bill let us know how it goes.

I think we both feel that it could be a very long year for us few Rox fans left. Heck I dont know if they will even sell out opening day in Coors. Oh how fast it has fallen and how sad is that.

That is cool you followed the Rox all though the Spring. That is dedication!!!! You the man Bill and look forward to getting down and catching a game or two with you. I am still looking for that first ball..... :D

Well I must say I am excited.

But not for the Rox but for players. I am excited for Brad Hawpe
I am also excited for Matt and Todd. I hope Joe Kennedy can have a year like last year and I am excited to see the young guys. And very excited in Hurdle getting fired!!!!

Nice job Clint!!!!!!! Barmus I mean :D

Rox take lead.....

I think the Rox can do a great job until they get to the Pen. That is what is going to make this team a bad team. If they could only get some guys to make this a solid pen this MIGHT be a team that could play .500 ball.

HR for Preston Wilson!!!!!

I fear he is going to be traded by dealing Dan before long also... :(

I like Preston a ton also.

04-04-2005, 05:34 PM
Jeff Baker!!!! I think this guy is going to be a stud also. This could hurt Adkins chances to get back with the Rox.

Durango53
04-04-2005, 05:41 PM
Joe is having some problems getting the ball over the plate but it also looks like the ump aint helping that much also...

Not good for Coors to not throw strikes... :(

Durango53
04-04-2005, 05:54 PM
Well Joe as been doing it but the pitch count is going up with the missed strikes and I think he fears the Pen.

Balls killed Joe. HR for the Pods. Cut the lead in half. 2-4 Rox

Baker first hit is a SLUGGED HR!!!!!!!!!!!!

These young guys in the minors for the Rox are unbelieveable!!!

Durango53

Can we hope for a rain out every game by the 6th inning...

But as Timber pointed out the Rox always seem to handle the Pods all the time...

Hey Bill you will have to tell me if they have the fountains on again.

Durango53

And the Dam breaks with the Bullpen. Hurdle goes to the pen and the pen ties the game and gets no outs and he is walking out again to bring in another guy.

Lets see the Twins are playing so I will switch over to that game. Thanks for looking but it looks bad for the Rox.....

04-04-2005, 07:07 PM

Get ready for some high scoring games in old Coors.... :(

Durango53
04-04-2005, 07:11 PM
Arron Miles having a great game!!!

I hope he dont follow past 2nd basemen in Rox history when they start to get good. And that is Dan trading them for nothing............

Durango53
04-04-2005, 07:29 PM
Mark makes a loud out. That is good 2 runs for 2 outs.. Signs of a good pen....... I think the Rox are done now getting into the Pods pen...

Love the young guys James but it is the Bullpen that let this team down to make them do that. I hope for good things to come I think the Rox have a great young team just need that Pen...

I told you the Rox are going to be very good, Durango.

One game where the pen sucked...

Welcome to Coors. I am very happy with the young lineup. But Dan has been trying to trade Wilson for the past two years. If he stays heathly he is gone. Rox alway start of great but fade quick.

On the road this game is a blow out Pods win. Talk to me in July about the Rox and we will see how good they are. I do hope you are right but from what I saw on this bullpen this is going to be a long season. This is a blown save again by this pen which this team has lead the past two years.

Gotta say - this was one great game to be at! I think every team should win their home opener, and the Rox did it in fine fashion!

There was much partying and rejoicing after the game - didn't get home until 1 a.m. -

As far as the game itself - pitching was not the bright spot for either team, as is usually the case at Coors. The youngsters were swinging some hot bats, though - Baker, Sullivan and Barmes really got to Hoffman - I bet he's not looking forward to pitching at Coors any time soon, haha -

I think the Rox are well on their way to the NL West title - their magic number is only 161 - ;)

Loved what the young guys did. Bill there is hope for this team and we know it. But we also know that they got to build the pen. I wasnt impressed with the pen of the Rox but man those young guys was great!!!
